under the operational program of the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development "Intelligent Development", measure 2.3 Pro-innovative services for enterprises, Sub-measure 2.3.2 Innovation vouchers for SMEs, implements the project: "Development of technologies for obtaining innovative, large-format hard-wearing plates for use in industrial equipment and technological lines".

The project is implemented jointly with the Ceramics and Composites Plant, Ceramics and Concrete Department in Warsaw, ŁUKASIEWICZ Research Network - Institute of Ceramics and Building Materials (www.icimb.pl ).

Purpose of the project

The purpose of the project is the development of a technology for obtaining innovative large-format panels for use in industrial equipment and process lines. The use of these panels will improve the methods of securing industrial equipment such as: mills, separators, strings for the pneumatic and hydraulic transmission of mineral raw materials and their suspensions against excessive abrasion and erosion. The methods used so far have consisted of laying or gluing a large number of relatively small corundum fittings on the operating surfaces of the devices. It is associated with high labor intensity, assembly and repair costs of the protective coating made in this way. The cost of protective coatings increases in proportion to the scale of applications and the erosive properties of the media being fragmented or transferred.

The change in the method of securing devices against excessive wear will be possible after starting the production of large format corundum plates.

Planned results

As a result of project execution, the technology for producing the product in the form of advanced, fine-grained, sintered ceramic materials will be developed. The use of this product in industrial devices such as: mills, separators, strings for pneumatic and hydraulic transmission of mineral raw materials and their suspensions, will significantly improve the methods of protecting these devices against excessive abrasion and erosion. The special physicochemical properties of wear-resistant corundum sheets form the basis for their use in planning the construction and operation of equipment exposed to accelerated wear. This applies in particular to such industries as: cement industry, metallurgy industry, lime industry, pulp and paper industry, mining industry, energy industry (combined heat and power plants) and many other industries.
